Tale

Following the events of Batman (2022), Oz Cobb, aka The Penguin, attempts to take over Gotham’s criminal underworld. From melting makeup to filming in freezing temperatures, Colin Farrell and Cristin Milioti discuss how they got into character during the production of Penguin. Colin Farrell fought hard to get his version of The Penguin to smoke tobacco in Batman (2022), but was unsuccessful.

The DC Studios logo is placed in a rainy Gotham alley

An umbrella falls and the logo changes to the Warner Bros. logo. Appears in Graham Norton and stars: Lady Gaga/Demi Moore/Colin Farrell/Richard Ayoade/Jack Savoretti (2024).

But after episode 1 I’ll confirm that this show is amazing (so far)

I thought Colin Farrell was great as the Penguin in Batman, but I never understood casting a skinny, good looking actor and putting him in a huge prosthetic and a thick suit… especially when I think he looks like other famous actors who would be just as good. I also really didn’t understand why this spin-off was made and honestly I’m just tired of Batman reboots.

But I didn’t expect to like it as much as I did

I only watched it because I knew it was necessary to see a bridge between the first and second films, and my surprising enjoyment of Farrell’s performance in the first. The acting is amazing, the writing is great and it surprised me with a few quick plot twists. What I liked the most was that there was so much more color in it than in Batman.

I hope it’s just as good, because I honestly can’t wait for the next episode

I noticed this almost immediately because it was a huge complaint about the movie for me (I felt like I was watching it through the prism of Zack Snyder).
