The Central Council of Health & Research (CCHR), Nagpur (Maharashtra) Is Managed by the Global Medico Technical Multipurpose Foundation Registered by the Government of India under Act 29 of 1950 & Act 21 of 1860 as a scientific medico technical research council.
Continuous learning is essential & integral part of a medico’s life & to fulfill this purpose CCHR is established with a vision to upgrade & update medical students & practitioners with certificates/fellowships through correspondence as well as classroom programs to enrich their knowledge.
The main objective is to make concerted efforts to promote Medical Education activities and allot self-study credit hours along with conducting training workshops for medical professionals through distance as well as campus education learning. The system is learner-oriented and the student is an active participant in the teaching and learning process.
The Medical Education programs are meant for Qualified Doctors possessing recognized Diplomas / Degrees from recognized universities / boards/institutions. The purpose of programs is to make the participant well equipped with the subject considering the modern-day advances and enhancement of his/ her skills so that he/she can do better in his/her medical practice. The main aim of the CME programs/Fellowship Programmes is to help the participants in better healthcare delivery for his/her patients. The idea of Council is not to perform the role of Medical Colleges or compete with them.
The Role of the Central Council of Health & Research (CCHR)
1. To develop in the young generation, in medicos and medical professional the higher spirit and values of ethics, dutifulness, brotherhood and selfless service; and for the same to organize different educational, cultural and socio- creative activities and constructive programmes.
2. To undertake publications relating to Health & Medicine.
3. To engage, assist or undertake various social service activities such as sanitation, public health, establishment of libraries, social welfare activities, family welfare, relief to the affected in times of flood, famine, pestilence and other calamities caused by nature and man.
4. To formulate policies and make suggestions and recommendations in the matter of Medical Education and Training, in particular encouraging Continuing Medical Education activities.
5. To promote Teaching, Training and Continuing Medical Education of its members on an ongoing basis;
6. To encourage group studies, co-operative activities, Research projects in both the methodology of educational techniques and field research into diseases etc.
7. To compile, educational material, including publication of literature, periodicals, bulletins and books.
8. To establish dialogue between different theories concerning useful knowledge including the diverse prevalent systems of medical sciences, methodologies and philosophies; and to strive for bringing about adjustment, integration and synthesis and to organize / sponsor educational programmes, seminars, symposia, workshops and conferences as well as to promote academic work of all kinds in order to advance and develop the Indian Medicine (Ayurveda), Alternative Medicine & homeopathy
9. To advance the scientific study and professional practice of Modern Mdicine,Indian Medicine (Ayurveda), alternative Medicine & Homeopathy and to enhance the contribution of Indian Medicine(Ayurveda),Alternative Medicine and Homoeopathy by encouraging its development by promoting research and setting high standards of professional ethics, competence, conduct, education, qualification and achievement amongst practitioners promoting the dissemination of knowledge and thought about Indian Medicine (Ayurveda), alternative Medicine and Homoeopathy through CME programmes, Refresher Courses, Meetings, Lectures, Seminars, Workshops, Reports, Papers, Discussions, Debates, Exhibitions, Camps, Publications, Professional contacts etc. with wide interest and inquiry into Indian Medicine and all related areas of knowledge and practice
