In the midst of an international crisis, career diplomat Kate Wyler lands a high-profile job she’s not prepared for—with tectonic implications for her marriage and political future. The producers convinced the American and British governments to let them use real-life sets as filming locations for the series, including the still-new American embassy (in Nine Elms) that opened in 2018. Britain allowed filming inside the foreign secretary’s office, an honor rarely bestowed on any film or movie production, especially an American one.

The only unavailable location was Winfield House, the actual residence of the American ambassador. Though accurately described as occupying the largest parcel of residential land (11 acres) in London other than Buckingham Palace, the producers used a country house outside the city for filming purposes. I watched The Night Agent in one sitting, thinking it couldn’t get much better than that, but I was wrong.

So cerebral and engrossing

I loved every second of this series. Everything you could want in a series. The characters and acting were first class.

She played it to perfection

It was great to see the delightful Rufus Sewell again, and what a role he played, never knowing what he would come up with next. Keri Russell was just magnificent as the ambassador. I also loved David Gyasi.

Best political show since The West Wing

Overall a wonderful series, a little short perhaps, but well worth watching. Excellent!
