Nate Busko has spent 12 of his 17 years running from his past. Tired of being bounced around from foster home to foster home, he now lives in his car, eating corn husks for dinner and using sports practice to shower. As night falls, he couldn’t be more different from the cocky, arrogant personality of his school. Alone, he is haunted by fragments of traumatic memories from his past. Enter Stan Deen, a popular high school drama teacher who is faced with his own problems. He sees Nate’s hidden talent and a need for attention and guidance that no other teacher has, and decides to help. However, in a shocking turn of events, Nate is arrested in the middle of school and taken away in handcuffs. Stan follows Nate to the police station and not only posts bail, but agrees to take Nate back to his own home, despite the raised eyebrows he receives from the other teachers.
