Following a family tragedy, three generations of the Deetz family return to their home in Winter River. It’s fun to see Michael Keaton reprising one of his most famous roles

There are too many stories unfolding in this film, and not all of them are interesting enough for us to care. He slips back into the pinstripe suit like he’s never missed a beat. But the movie doesn’t come alive (or is it undead?) until the last third of the film.

The original Beetlejuice was perfect

That’s when the pace picks up and the laughs start flying full-throttle. By then, it’s too late. The sequel is a good example of why people say perfection is something not to be messed with.
